Calibration Strategies Applied to Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy: A Critical Review of Advances and Challenges

نویسندگان

چکیده

Over the years, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has been reported in literature as an alternative to traditional methods of analysis, becoming well established among spectroanalytical techniques. LIBS is a technique widely used for qualitative approaches; however, it necessary considerable effort use quantitative mainly due severe matrix effects. These limitations make difficult broaden application analysis. In this sense, review discusses recent advances calibration strategies applied minimizing effects and enabling determination with satisfactory accuracy precision. Applications, advantages, strategies, such matrix-matching (MMC), internal standardization (IS), standard addition (SA), multi-energy (MEC), one-point gravimetric (OP GSA), multi-line MLC), slope ratio (SRC), two-point transfer (TP CT), single-sample (SSC), multiple linear regression (MLR), principal component (PCR), partial least squares (PLS) artificial neural networks (ANN) are discussed.

Applied Linguistic Approach to Language Learning Strategies (A Critical Review)

From applied linguistic point of view, the fundamental question facing the language teachers, methodologists and course designers is which procedure is more effective in FL/SL: learning to use or using to learn? Definitely, in order to be a competent language user, knowledge of language system is necessary, but it is not sufficient to be a successful language user. That is why there was a gradu...

Successes and Challenges of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) Applied to Chemical Analyses of Geological Samples

The laser-induced breakdown spectrometer (LIBS) on the ChemCam instrument [1] on the Curiosity rover on Mars has played a vital role in bringing this new technology to the attention of the scientific community. With over 100,000 spectra from individual laser shots collected to date and many more in progress, ChemCam has amply demonstrated the robustness of this technique for remote applications...

Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy for detection of explosives residues: a review of recent advances, challenges, and future prospects.

In this review we discuss the application of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to the problem of detection of residues of explosives. Research in this area presented in open literature is reviewed. Both laboratory and field-tested standoff LIBS instruments have been used to detect explosive materials. Recent advances in instrumentation and data analysis techniques are discussed, inclu...
